  • $120 Registration fee does not include Hawaiian Falls. (registration deadline Friday, May 9th, 2025)

  • $145 Registration Fee Includes Hawaiian Falls

  • Students in 6th and 7th grades that attend MISD schools

  • Includes t-shirt, Hawaiian falls Admission, Snacks and popsicles, Instruction, Bus Transportation to park, lots of fun!!!

Conductors and Instructional Staff

Mr. Jarred Dodd is Head Band Director at Rushing Middle School, in Prosper Texas. His responsibilities at Rushing MS include: directing the Wind Ensemble, assisting with Concert Bands I, II and III and teaching beginner oboe, bassoon, trumpet, and horn classes. Mr. Dodd has served as head director of Rushing Middle School since opening the school in 2020. Ensembles under his direction have consistently earned superior ratings in Texas UIL competition and local festivals and have helped to develop a number of TMEA All-State musicians. Most recently, the Rushing MS Symphonic Winds earned recognition as a state semi-finalist in TMEA Honor Band competition and as a National Winner in the Mark of Excellence by the Foundation for Music Education in 2023 and 2024. In 2023, the Rushing Wind Ensemble was selected to perform at the 77th Annual Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic in Chicago, Ill. 

Mr. Dodd was a two-time trumpet player in the Texas All-State Band. He received his B.A. in Music Education from Texas Tech University and a Master’s in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Texas at Arlington. He has been a presenter at Texas Music Educators Association and Texas Bandmasters Association conventions, and is an active member of both organizations.

Brittney Williams recently completed her 25th year of teaching and her first year at Rogers Middle School in Prosper ISD. Previously, she was Head Band Director at Evans Middle School in McKinney ISD for 11 years, where her bands consistently earned sweepstakes ratings, first-division awards, and multiple “Best in Class” honors. In 2024, the Honors Band placed 2nd in the Region Level of the CC Texas Honor Band competition and advanced to Area for the first time in school history.

Before Evans, Mrs. Williams was an assistant band director at Faubion Middle School in McKinney ISD, where her bands earned top rankings, including a Midwest Clinic invitation. She also taught at Byrd Middle School in Duncanville ISD, where the Symphonic I Band won the 2008 CCC State Honor Band title.

Mrs. Williams holds a music education degree from West Texas A&M and is a member of TMEA, TBA, TMAA, and Phi Beta Mu.

Adrienne Schuster is in year 14 of teaching and has been the associate band director at Shadow Ridge Middle School in Lewisville ISD for the past 5 years.  She directs the Symphonic Band, assists with Honor Winds, and teaches all the beginner woodwind classes. Ms. Schuster previously taught in Wylie ISD and Grand Prairie ISD. 

Ms. Schuster lives in Carrollton with her two dogs, Calliope and Olympia. She loves yoga, rock climbing and can’t resist a good book.

Camp Staff

A dedicated team of professionals ready to help your students learn and have fun. Most of the staff are the MISD Band Directors who already know your students.

Camp Hours

Students will be dropped off daily at 12:00 PM and will be picked up at 4:30 PM. On Saturday students will be at camp from 8am to 6pm. Students will perform for their parents and then go swimming at Hawaiian Falls Water Park.

What is Band Camp like?

Students will participate in instrument specific masterclasses, ensembles, full band rehearsals, and team building games and activities. Students will also receive a band camp t-shirt as well as a meal every day.

Student Band Placement

Students will be placed into the bands based on their spring audition at their home campus. Concert music for the week will be distributed on the first evening. You do not need to prepare any music. Please make sure you bring your instrument, band binder, reeds/sticks/oils, and anything else you would normally use in your band class.
